I’m as motivated to write this blog as I am to get on the treadmill this morning as I begin my new diet. I really don’t know what either “end’ will be, but I do know, both are professional requirements.
My boss said a couple of weeks ago, he wanted us to start blogging. Me. The one who can’t remember her cell phone number because I still use “landlines”; came kicking and screaming into Microsoft Office use (Management is well aware if they REALLY want to reach me, they must call me on my home phone or office number). I still refuse to text or message anything or anyone under any circumstances. It’s not a stubborn-thing, honest. It’s a woman-gotta-do-it-all-men-who-sit-in-suits-behind-desks-don’t-get-it, thing! (Can I say that in a blog? This might be fun after all.) I don’t have time to add another “to do” on my “to do” list.
But then I thought about it. I made one of my goals this year to start writing more, if not for myself, then to help somebody. Share life experiences. Write a book. Hey, this is just as good a beginning as any.
And oh yeah, back to the dread of the diet and treadmill. As is often the case, the minute I climbed on board and turned on the tv, I heard the words, “professional preparation” come from the tube. That’s what the treadsmill could be for today. It’s what keeps the heart healthy and the attitude in check, too.
And if that wasn’t incentive enough, within minutes my Mom called. We started chatting about the family tree. And every time that subject comes up I’m reminded of the history of heart disease that runs in my family.
Before I know it, I’ve walked three miles. Oatmeal does a heart good for breakfast. And thank God for another day. I think I have a subject for my very first blog.
I watch My 9 News. Its the best local new around.
I feel your the Heart and Soul of the team and it
would not be the same with out you.
Wishing you Angel Love and Light.
God Bless
Ray

Welcome to the wonderful world of technology… even if you come to it kicking and screaming. Sorry about the treadmill and oatmeal thing, but isn’t it great to know that when the TV goes on at 10 PM you look FABULOUS! You are an inspiration to your fans and we love your enthusiasm. Keep on blogging away.

Hello Brenda. Thank you for blogging. You are such a beautiful person. I can always feel your positive energy coming through my screen. I wish there were more women like you on tv. Please consider writing that book. I would love to know more about you.
I just wanted to say thank you for your service to our community. I appreciate the fact that you wore black in solidarity with the Jena 6 trial. Also, I felt very ashamed to see you almost come to tears on your Sunday show while talking to fellow reporter about racism and nooses. I felt ashamed because I feel you shouldn’t have to cry about the state of the world your daughter will inherit. You deserve better. I feel that we haven’t established justice in this world as yet. If I had my way, you wouldn’t have to shed anymore tears.
That’s it for now. Take care!

Hello Brenda:
I think your boss came up with a great idea, having you do the blogs, not only for MY 9, but your personal career also. I say that because I learned more about you in that 5 minaute blog, then all the news cast I’ve watched since you’ve been on. In terms of the cell, my g/f was the same as you when I frist tried to get her to text. She was so afarid of doing something wrong or messing up the phone it took all the fun out of texting. Yes Brenda texting is fun and you don’t even have to talk to the person yur talking with.!!! Its the greaest thing ever. Its kind of like Lay’s bet you can’t eat just one, I promise, if you send 5 messages and get the hang of it, you’ll become hooked. And who knows maybe you could teach yur Mom too. LOL
