I have something to say and I thought this a good place to say it. First up. I have another blogging location I want to tell you about since our newscast time provides little time to tell you extra news like there’s a place I go to talk to viewers about what’s on my mind. So, go to our website at My9TV.com. Click on politics at the top of the page. And then find my picture and click on comments. There you’ll find my 21 day countdown to the election. Every day I comment. Chat about stuff, election stuff. My thoughts, put to type. The good, the bad, the not so bright (I have bad days, too).
On to the next tidbit—I have meant to thank the people at SHARE, especially, Executive Director, Alice Yaker and President, Linda Rogers. I got a chance of participate once again in the annual “A Second Helping of Life”. SHARE helps women and men with breast and ovarian cancer. The “Second Helping” is provided through the group’s support and assurance to those with cancer, reminding them they are not alone after medical diagnosis and treatment. SHARE provides support groups and educational meetings, advocacy activities and helps those who fear, cope. Generous donors keep SHARE services available to everyone who needs them. Copied straight from this year’s program, SHARE’s Mission Statement: “…to create and sustain a supportive network and community of women affected by breast or ovarian cancer. SHARE brings these women and their families and friends together with others who have experienced breast or ovarian cancer, and provides participants with the opportunity to receive and exchange information, support, strength and hope. SHARE’s work focuses on empowerment, education and advocacy to bring about better health care, improved quality of life, and a cure for these diseases.”
And a final tidbit for the day. A note about tidbits: They don’t have to be in any way related. That’s a Brenda rule. I want to to remind you of this quote during this election year, tumultuous economic period, and perhaps difficult personal trial you may be going through…the words of a great American figure:
“…In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.”
No matter what your politics, no matter what your goal this day, don’t let bitterness or hatred be your guide in getting your goal.
Good day!
